Urban monuments preservation area České Budějovice [ Městská památková rezervace ]
A Royal Town, founded by Přemysl Otakar II in 1265.
 The historic centre is formed by Přemysl Otakar II Square, which gained its current appearance after a fire in 1641. 
 The dominant features are the Black Tower, the town hall, the Samson bastion, St Nicholas´ Cathedral, St Anne´s Church, the former Dominican monastery with the Church of Our Lady of Dolours, and the former town armoury and salt-house.
 The Meat Shops are also well known, today serving ad stylised taverns.
