This small castle was originally constructed of wood and was built initially by Václav I and continued later by Otakar Přemysl.
A significant renovation was done under the direction of Vladislav Jagellonsky. The Hapsburks then transformed the castle into a state prison.
After the sixteenth century the castle seemed to be forgotten, until the romance period once again sparked interest in the castle.
